Buildings and houses are beautiful...
The history is rich...
This is a picture inside St. Michael's Episcopal Church on Broad St. Pew number 43 is where President George Washington, Robert E. Lee and many others have worshiped.
This is a picture of the Edmondston-Alston House in Charleston. A member of the Alston family still lives on the 3rd story of this house today. It has beautiful views of the water, as it's on the battery in Charleston. It was built in 1825 and you can see Fort Sumter from the 2nd and 3rd floor balconies.General Beauregard stood on the 2nd balcony and watched the bombardment of Fort Sumter. It was a beautiful home to tour.
Food is to die for...
There are MANY good restaurants in Charleston, but we chose to go to Magnolia's, which is an old staple. It was delicious! Many of us indulged ourselves with the shrimp and grits dish you see below. YUM!
Shopping is fun...
...and of course the water is right by your side...
The people are so nice and have such a love for their city and their state. We are definitely proud of our flag in Texas, but South Carolina is definitely a competitor when it comes to state pride.
If you haven't gone...make plans to visit!
Have a great day!!
